The Rose Garden

Yesterday I went to a place called the Rose Garden.  My Nana went with us.  The Rose Garden is a place filled with bunches of roses.  It was really fun. 

These are things I thought were interesting about the garden.  There is a big fountain in the middle and arches of roses that you could go through.  There was a sign that said if you picked roses, they could charge you $500.00.  There was a squirrel that tried to get Avery's crackers.  The squirrel was not afraid of us.  It even sniffed my hand.  My favorite kind of roses that I found were stripped.  My favorite garden was the Shakespeare Garden.

perler beads

When I am bored, I play with something called perler beads.  They are these shapes that have little pegs on them and you put  these beads with a hole in them on the pegs.  Then when you are done with the shape, you put a special paper over it and then iron it so it melts the beads together.

Then you can use it as a decoration or something like that.  I made a circle yesterday and today I made a house.  When I am better at it, I'm going to try and make a school bus. 

Mr. Popper's Penguins

I've been reading a book called Mr. Popper's Penguins.  It's about a man who gets a penguin in the mail because he really likes penguins. 



The person who sends him the penguin is named Admiral Drake.  Captain Cook is the first penguin Mr. Popper gets.



My favorite part is when the penguins perform in the theatre.  The penguins names are Greta, Captain Cook, Columbus, Victoria, Nelson, Jenny, Magellan, Adelina, Scott, Isabella, Ferdinand, and Louisa. 



We finished the book last night. 

The Wind in the Willows

I have been reading a book called The Wind in the Willows.  Here are some of my favorite characters.  Mole, Ratty, Toad, Badger, and Otter.  Badger lives in the dark woods.  Ratty lives on the river bank.   Mole lives in his underground hole.  Then mole went to live with Ratty. 


The book is about their adventures. 


Toad is kind of vain.  One time he bought a motor car.  He drove so fast that he had to go to the hospital three times because he kept crashing. 


The book is called the Wind in the Willows because there are lots of willow trees.
