My favorite characters in this book are Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn. I think they are funny. A part that I think is funny is when the boys are going to dig for hidden treasure in what they think is a haunted house.
"The next day the boys were heading toward the woods when they remembered it way Friday. It was bad luck to be fooling around with ghosts on a Friday, so they decided to play Robin Hood for the rest of the day."
I think this is a funny thing to believe.
At the end, Tom is trying to convince Huck to come back and live with the Widow Douglas. He promises Huck that he can be in Tom's robber gang if he comes back. Huck says:
"Now that's the life! Why, it's a million times better than pirating. I'll stick to the widow till I rot, Tom, and if I git to be a re'lar ribber of a robber, and everybody's talking 'bout it, I reckon she'll be mighty proud of me."

I a so glad you read Tom Sawyer. It is one of my favorite books too. I am smiling right now when I think about some of the parts in it. Did you know that when we lived in Alaska, your Aunt Kristin was Becky in a play of Tom Sawyer and your Uncle Jeff was a little kid in it. We even have a video of it I think. I will try to find it. It was a musical and they sang lots of good songs. Have a great day. I love you.
ReplyDeleteI think it's funny how they talk. Mom read us that book before and I really like it. We also have the movie.
