The Secret Garden

One of the other books I've read is called The Secret Garden.  It is about a girl who finds out about a secret garden in her uncle's backyard.  She finds a key buried under a tree and then she finds a door in a wall covered with vines.  A robin she met led her to the key and the door. She goes in and finds a beautiful garden.  My favorite part is when she finds the garden.

  1. Oh, Jacob, I just love this book. I like thinking about that poor little orphan girl finding that garden and bringing it and Collin all back to life again. Collin and his dad are not really dead; they just needed some one and some reason to care about life again. My favorite character is the boy with all the animals. What is his name?

  2. I just read a book called The Road. It was kind of a sad story about a boy and his dad who were some of the last people alive on the earth. They didn't say what happened but there was lots of ash falling. They had trouble finding things to eat and staying warm. The boy wanted to be nice to the few people they met but the dad wanted to be more careful and make sure they had enough to eat themselves. At the end the dad dies and another family takes the boy in.

  3. I love that book too. I love books that show progression and growth. I like computer games like that too, like where I can build a civilization over time. Another book that The Secret Garden reminds me of is "A little Princess". It is a story about a very strong little girl in a boarding school.

  5. I love that book, too. Another one of my favorites is Mandy by Julie Andrews. It's about a little orphan girl who finds a cottage in the woods and makes it her own. I was completely fascinated by orphans when I was little, I hope it didn't offend mom and dad :). I think I thought being an orphan meant never having to ask before spending the night at a friends house.
